Puerto Rico:

A new minister has arrived from Peru, Brother Felicitamo  Aetel.

He will replace Brother A. Pizzaro, who will be retiring after twenty years of service in Puerto Rico.   May God be with Brother Aetel in his new position, and may He bless Brother Pizarro for all his efforts in this country.

Jamaica:

Jamaica was the first to benefit under the new Union’s Health and Home Department. On August 6th, Sister Rose Powell, the Coordinator of this department gave a health presentation. The brethren were   encouraged by   a lecture and   projector presentation on the direct   relation   between the diet   and   disease.     Sister Powell emphasized that the health message is the right arm of the third angel and is an excellent method of reaching souls. “Medical missionary is the right helping hand of the gospel to open doors for the proclamation of the message… I can see in the Lord’s providence that the medical missionary work is to be the great entering wedge.” E’V., p. 513.

There is also a new worker, Brother Colin Gyles.  Let us remember him in our prayers, asking God to strengthen and guide him.

Publishing:

The publishing   department   has been   busy preparing the new Sabbath School Lessons in English and Spanish. Plans for new publications, especially for canvassing are also being set.   These preparations are being done with the hope that the canvassing work  can be  revived   in  the  Union  by  the  workers  and  local  members.    Not  only  is canvassing one of  the  most effective  ways  of  reaching  people, but  it can also  produce income for the church.
