Another year is drawing to its close. This has been so far a very eventful year. Many signs of the times have been fulfilled. We have witnessed earthquakes, wars, terrorism, famines, pestilences and many other signs which tell us that the end is very near. Many signs in the religious and political fields indicate that the Sunday law is not far away either.

We are hoping and praying that our people will awaken to realize the solemnity of the hour. The judgment in heaven will soon turn upon us and decisions will be made about our eternal destiny.

Many timely articles in “The Messenger” have brought the nearness of the end to our attention. The only question is, are we heeding them? Are we purifying our hearts? Are we reforming our habits and practices? Are we breaking the connections to this world and fastening our eyes to our Leader Jesus?

We are trying to make this “Messenger” magazine presentable and improve the quality and appearance of it. Out difficulty is in the unskilled labour. Children and young people on a voluntary basis do much of the work. Also we have continued to print it monthly which allows a very limited time to produce it. Some spelling errors have gone through at times, but we are thankful for our readers that they have tolerated them and have appreciated the efforts put out by the IMS publishing staff.

We are very thankful for the articles and the pictures that our members have contributed and like to encourage all to continue to send them. Even young children have written articles which have always been printed. This magazine is the Voice of our people, where everyone is invited to express their spiritual conviction and experiences.

We have no idea of the blessing that these messages have brought to our brothers and sisters and children; only eternity will reveal it to us. Some articles have been rather strong in one direction, while others have brought the balance into the messages.

The last few weeks that we have left of this year, let us use them wisely, to redeem the time. As the angels took hold of Lot and his family in Sodom to lead them out, let them take hold of us also and lead us away from the world to the very atmosphere of heaven which is being brought to us here by the company of our heavenly visitors. “Those with whom Christ dwells will be surrounded with a divine atmosphere.” M.B. p. 135

May the Lord bless you all, and we hope to hear from you soon.
AMEN
