My First Missionary Experience

This isn’t my first time doing missionary work, but my first experience. It was Sunday, and the New York church went to do missionary work. (But this one was special, the young people came along. It was for a summer thing we had at church for the young people. This one was to train us to do missionary work.) Well, back to my experience. I was feeling happy and sad at some points, but the Lord lifted me up. When we got to the destination, the brethren broke up into groups. I was in a group with Sis. Lugo, Sis. Marline, her daughter Stephanie and my little sister, Deanne. Sis. Marline was telling me how to do missionary work. When you give someone literature tell them, “God bless you”.

When we got to the corner I felt discouraged because I saw people doing their own thing and not wanting a Bible card. So, I prayed for the Lord to help me. A couple came along, I offered them a Bible card, and they didn’t want it. So, I offered them a magazine, “Steps to Christ”. I told them it only cost a dollar. They responded and said, “I don’t have any money.” So, I said I will take a dime, a nickel, a quarter, penny, anything. They still told me they didn’t have any money. So I said, how do you not have a dollar with those sneakers on. The man said his mother bought him those sneakers. I was like “whatever” and the lady with him said I like her. (I believe she was referring to my attitude doing missionary work). So, young people don’t feel discouraged when doing missionary work. Don’t be scared that one of your friends may see you. Just trust in the Lord, He will help you and put fun in doing missionary work. It is not your battle you are fighting, it is your Father’s in heaven. May God be with you until I write again.
AMEN.
