Lord Jesus, take my heart into Thine hands;
Sweep away the woeful flood,
Of my sins with Thine shed blood,
Fill it with Thy tender love and sweetness,
Compassion, faith, humility, peace and meekness,
Hold it close to Thine own heart,
Thy precious righteousness unto me impart.
Make Thy will to be my own,
Willing to surrender, not to frown,
Immerse it in Thy sea of grace
To do Your will, not mine with pace,
To joyfully obey Thy word,
To honour Thee, my God and LORD.
Let mine eyes to see Thy truth,
And not behold vain things uncouth;
Draw them to Thy holy word,
Enrich me with its jewels of eternal worth.
Let my mind esteem Thy holy law,
Ever treasure it with solemn awe;
Imprint it deep within me,
And live by it to worship Thee.
Take my hands to toil with love
With that agape from above,
Whatever duty lies before me,
Big or small, or high or low,
Always willingly to do and see.
Make my lips speak goodly words,
Never anything that wounds or hurts;

To comfort, soothing grief and lifting up,
With words of truth like some sweet sap
Dropping down like dew
To refresh the one to whom it’s due.
Take my life, do as You will,
Make me yield and holding still,
That Thou may mold it to Your likeness,
For I hunger after Thine own righteousness.
Come into my heart, abide with me,
Make me worthy with my trust in Thee,
Cast out earthliness, all vanity,
Let not Thy blood be shed in vain for me.
Draw me closer to Thy great heart,
More love and Spirit, faith impart,
And still the thirst of my poor soul,
For Thou – the living fountain makes us sinners whole.
Touch my soul with Thine own Spirit,
Sanctify it through Thy word,
Let brightly shine Thy light through me forth,
That others seeing Jesus living in my heart,
And through me Jesus touching other lives and hearts.
Grant me to stand not emptyhanded at Thy throne,
Bring with me some soul(s) to receive the crown
Of victory among Thy ransomed throng,
Having overcome all sins and evil strong.
May this prayer also be for all who desire,
to prepare to see Jesus at His second coming!
Amen.
