Behold the striking golden glow
Spread over rolling, verdant hills,
That springtime caused to grow,
To give your eyes and heart glad thrills.
Come, see and take a closer look,
To learn from nature’s lesson book.
Revealing the Creator’s power,
On the face of every blooming flower.
They say: our presence is to cheer,
Wake hope, new joy in you to bring.
By His appointment we are here,
Arousing weary hearts to sing.
Though hail and rain may knock us down,
Blasting winds make known their frown,
We cannot flee from our given spot,
Thus we endure to stand our lot.
The Saviour’s care is keeping us,
To shield from being broken,
Be still O soul, and yield to trust!
God’s gift we are to you and token.
The crushing burden on your way
Roll unto Christ – to Him they’re ease –
Unload yourself – cast them away –
Trust fully Him – the Prince of Peace!
