The Danger of Doubt

Christ came into this world to show us that, by receiving the power, which comes from heaven, man can live a spotless life. With endless patience and great sympathy, Jesus assists men today. By grace, He banishes anxiety and doubt out of the human heart and also removes the enmity against love.

It is not wise to look at ourselves and analyse our feelings. If we do, the enemy will present difficulties and temptations to us, which will lessen our faith and will destroy our courage. If we study our emotions and give ourselves up with our impressions we expose ourselves to doubt, and entangle ourselves with difficulties. Let us redirect our eyes away from ourselves and look to Jesus.

Jesus will give you the grace to be patient and trustful and also help you to overcome your failures. He will warm your heart by His Spirit, which is full of gentleness. He will also vivify your faint heart so that your heart rests on God with confidence. Discharge all your burdens on Him.

The heart that loves God emerges out of the fog of doubt and acquires an experience that is alive, full of light, deep and broad. It will become soft and the life will resemble Jesus more and more. It is easy to become like this with God, if the life is hid with Christ in him. The heart will then be able to endure the test. of contempt, violence and offence, for the Saviour suffered all that and has promised to help man become like Him.

This renewed heart also does not become discouraged when difficulties attack it, since Christ, our example, did not yield to discouragement either. Each Christian will find his strength, not in the merits of his good works, but in the righteousness of Christ, received by faith. It is a great thing to be soft and humble of heart and to live in purity like the Prince of Life did during His stay among men.
