Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

We were created in the image of God, which is reason enough for learning how to properly take care of our bodies that God has entrusted to us.

Few Christians really understand the principles of physiology. Far more seem to know about their automobiles than about their own bodies. Twenty-four hours a day, every day, our bodies are working away for us.

“Lead the people to study the manifestation of God’s love and wisdom in the works of nature. Lead them to study that marvelous organism, the human system, and the laws by which it is governed.” Ministry of Healing, p. 147.

When we realize how infinitely precious we are to God, that He would even consider to create a being in His image, and that His Son Jesus died to save each and every one of us; it then becomes even more important as to how we treat these miracle bodies made of flesh and blood.

There is no device to compare with man’s amazing structure. We are God’ property; we are God’s workmanship; fearfully and worderfully made. God created these temples for the indwelling of His Spirit.

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor. 6:19, 20.

“God’s people are not prepared for the loud cry of the third angel. They have a work to do for themselves which they should not leave for God to do form them. He has left this work fo rthem to do. It is an individual work; one cannot do it for another. ‘Having, therefore, these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God… In order to be fitted for translation, the people of God must know themselves. They must understand in regard to their own physical frames…” Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 32,33.

Between 50,000 and 100,000 different chemicals gto into the making and running of the human body. They interact with each other in ways so complex that they make the world’s most advanced computer look like the early 1900’s manual typewriter.

These essential chemicals, known as nutrients, far from being isolated in their workings, need each other. It is only by working together that they can enact the complicated routines that make our bodies function.

Our bodies are essentially a machine that operates like a distilling plant. It distills the food we eat and the air we breathe, extracting the finer intrinsic properties which then enter into the bloodstream. The portions which are too coarse to be absorbed are eliminated through the bowels. We were created to continually eliminate excesses and waste matter, otherwise, we would die in a very short time on our metabolic waste and poisons.
