“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.” Isaiah 30:15
Reading Isaiah 30:15 gives me great comfort in my old age of 86 years. There are many elderly Christians who need this help, especially those who try to live without the Lord’s help regarding their health. They are extremely vulnerable to much ill health and unhappiness. But we, in good faith, can keep on, keeping on in faith–having a purpose in life. It is important that we continue with much prayer, by following correct principles of healthy living as well as being 100% advocates of our blessed health message in face of the dearth of healthy food products in the super markets today.
Over 100 years ago, Sister Ellen G. White was given a message regarding health reform which saved the problem if ill health for God’s people in her ministry. Also the general public, along with the Christians of her day, were blessed by Sister White’s message of vegetarianism. It was published by the thousands and distributed in North America to educate the people regarding health. It put many on the road to a healthier life style and these principles still exist today.
But something terrible is happening all over the world in this day and age. Our soil is depleted of vital vitamins and minerals which are necessary to keep us healthy, and this includes those of us who are 100% vegetarians. We all need help in this respect. Yes, all of us need help, by taking supplemental vitamins and minerals that the Lord has made available in this day and age in order for us to uphold a reasonably healthy lifestyle.
The two principles I follow is in my diet are: 1) I eat fruits before my meal of grains and vegetables; 2) In my diet I include supplemental vitamins and minerals.
This information comes to us in this day and age similar to the message given to Sister White in 1864.
Elderly people all over the world need this extra health information and I am happy to learn that our General Conference is planning to incorporate a new world organization known as IHO (International Health Organization). We are a small people in the view of the world, but well known for our health message, because Ellen G. White spread this message far and wide; it helps the young and not so young.
In closing I quote Isaiah 30:29, “Ye shall have a song, as in the night [when] a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.” Amen and Amen.
