Mission Trip to Ghana

On January 11, 2006 I left Toronto to London, England, and then to Dubai in the Arab Emirates and finally crossed the whole of Africa to reach the country of Ghana. The believers had been waiting for my coming and Brother Sirima also joined with me to do missionary visits together. Also, Leila, Edda, Christian, and Ebenezer Asare came along.

The first Sabbath we spent with our own members in Jerico, encouraging and instructing them. In the afternoon we met another group who wanted to know our message. On Sunday we met with the members of the 1951 Movement. On
Monday morning we took a bus to the capital city, Accra, from where we continued with another bus for six hours to the city of Komasi, where we met members and leaders of two independent groups. On Monday we continued our visits in Komasi and made appointments to meet the independent groups on the following Sabbath and Sunday.

On Tuesday we traveled still further north to the city of Yeji where we met with the leaders of another group. All day Wednesday we studied with this group and they were much interested in our message. They especially had questions about our health message. On Thursday, we returned to Komasi, where we had a chance to talk to more people.

0n Sabbath we visited the Historic Group in the morning and in the afternoon the Bible Research group. They gave me a
chance to speak to the whole congregation for about two hours. In the end they had questions and the answers we gave them seemed to satisfy them. Some people came to meet us again in the evening. Brother Sirima could only spend five days with us. He had to go to visit other states that had interest also. On Sunday we again had a meeting with the Historic Group in their church. In the end they had no questions but promised to study more, before they make up their minds.

On Sunday evening we traveled to a city called Old Tafu. There we had a public meeting in the centre of the town. Many
people gathered to listen to us, especially many young children.

In the past, the people in Ghana were all Sabbath keepers, until the white people brought Sunday worship to them.
Therefore they used to call white people “Sunday.”

On the way back we visited some interested people. The next day I had to return to Canada with a great hope that the trip was not a waste of time and money, but that some results will come out of it. We hope that the work in Ghana may prosper and many honest souls will take their stand for the truth.

The four independent groups that we met heard the message, that God has only one church on the earth, who preach the everlasting gospel to every kindred, tongue and nation; also the other angel in Revelation chapter 18 lightens the whole earth. How could these small groups that are in one country only, fulfill the prophecy, especially when the true Reformation was to start during the First World War, according to Sis. White prophesy?

In Revelation 18:4 people are called to come out of Babylon. Where can they go if God does not have a church in their country? Jesus said that there will be one flock and one shepherd. Certainly this one flock must be world-wide so that honest souls can join in it, in their own country.

Let us pray especially for the work in Ghana and support it with financial help also.
AMEN
