In Genesis 1:24-25 the creation story speaks about God creating living creatures after his kind… “and God saw that it was good.”

In December my family and I travelled to Tanzania in Africa.  We saw many, many different kinds of animals.  We were blessed to see such a sight as the Serengeti Wildebeest Migration where we saw what looked like a million wildebeest as far as our eyes could see as well as zebras and gazelles. It is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world.  As well, there were lots of other animals such as many lions, elephants, hyenas, hippos, monkeys, giraffes, birds and even a couple leopards too.

When looking at all the wonderful animals that God created you have to think how great He really is.

Animals in nature are a wonderful part of life.  Sister White writes that the things of nature are given for our good.  They show us God’s love.  She also says, “He who loves God not only will love his fellow men but will regards with tender compassion the creatures which God has made.”  WM pg. 48

It was an amazing experience to see and be so close to the animals in Tanzania.  I wish I could have touched them as well but we always had to be careful and remember that they are wild animals.  But in heaven we will be able to live peacefully with all animals, including lions or tigers.  On the new earth there the lion will lie down with the lamb.

My wish and prayer is that we all will be in heaven to experience that wonderful ability to be close to all animals, God’s amazing creatures.  There they will no longer be wild.  AMEN
